We are looking for an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant with a flexible, dynamic attitude and passion for detail and accuracy, to join our Finance department.  The position will report to the Accounting Manager Revenue Accounting. This is a fixed term contract role, backfilling the current incumbent while they are dedicated to our SkyLedger Phase II project.

The position will provide accurate and timely revenue accounting and reporting for the Jetstar Group.  This role will be the resident expert in revenue recognition and specifically SkyLedger (Revenue Accounting System), be an effective business partner to various Jetstar businesses, supporting them and their initiatives.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

• Ensure that revenue is correctly accounted for during all phases of its recognition, in accordance with the company’s policies and generally accepted accounting principles.


• Ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations are completed on time and accurately and any discrepancies promptly followed up and resolved.


• Work with Finance, other businesses in the Jetstar Group and external partners (Navitaire, TCS, Banking providers and Auditors).


• Continual focus on improvement and efficiencies in systems and processes.


• Be the point of assistance for all external and internal queries with regard to revenue.

To be qualified for this role, you need to have:

• University degree and professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent).


• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.


• Strong knowledge of Finance Systems, (Oracle highly regarded).


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish sound working relationships with all levels of the organisation.


• Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint.


• Airline and/or audit experience preferred.
