Overview
Synopsis
This role reports to the Senior Product Manager. The Product Owner is responsible for defining and prioritising the backlog. They drive quality control and will validate that the stories delivered meet the defined acceptance criteria. This role will work with the Product Manager to serve as the customer proxy and will support them in defining the product vision and roadmap. This role will have to manage and operate in both Agile and waterfall delivery modes (as needed)
Accountabilities
• Responsible for migration to the new digital stack to power all digital transactional flows (Revenue & Redemption workflow) across web and mobile app platforms (including but not limited to ancillary booking, self-service/ post booking, Exchanges, Refunds, payments flows)
• Responsible for managing the PSS migration as a cross-departmental activity by facilitating engagement, obtaining inputs and sign-off from all relevant stakeholders to manage the product roadmap, migration plan & ensuring all milestones are met to achieve a successful migration
• Define the product strategy, vision and roadmap for the designated digital products across web and Mobile solutions
• Responsible for ensuring necessary user experience enhancements are agreed and applied for key transactional online workflows, business process for all consumer types are agreed and system dependencies aligned, mapped and signed off by relevant departments
• Define product migration strategy for digital booking platform, including feature backlog and coordinating dependencies with other Product Owners.
• Ensure all key system and process dependencies are identified, evaluate gaps in capabilities to deliver product strategies, and provide recommendations to deliver against them
• Define product success criteria and KPI’s including managing and tracking key milestones for product delivery
• Responsible for detailing features for setting up the online booking platform, queue management and ensuring the online booking engine platform complies with GDPR / Regulatory business needs
• Ensure Risk, Issues, Dependencies are flagged throughout the migration programme along with agreed Risk mitigation strategies.
• Responsible to manage, coordinate and sign off the end to end Testing plan for assigned workflows together with Testing leads post the SIT and UAT cycles and ensuring change management is effectively managed
• Responsible for defining and coordinating system integration dependencies for assigned workflows
• Responsible for developing the workstream milestones for accountable areas, ensuring all workstream GIVES and GETS are signed and agreed with service providers and drive deliverables to meet deadlines.
• Responsible for the acceptance of features and user stories, this includes validating that the stories meet the acceptance criteria, persistent acceptance tests, and that they comply with the Definition of Done (DoD)
• Facilitate regular demos with the team ensuring the most critical aspects are shown to the stakeholders
• Facilitate the iteration retrospectives and drive discussions on what can be improved to increase the velocity and quality. Review and prioritise the team backlog as part of Iteration Planning, including coordinating dependencies with other Product Owners. Responsible for accepting the final Iteration Plan
• Continuously improve the backlog with the team, ensure all items are clearly described, estimated, and prioritised. Ensure the scrum team understands the required features and functionality to be delivered in each iteration
Education & Experience
• 3+ years’ experience working in product development or as a Product Owner
• Working knowledge in airline Reservations, Ticketing, Fares and Pricing and Revenue Accounting mandatory
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent is preferred
• Certification in Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Owner or equivalent is desirable
• Experience with Agile development methodologies including SAFe, Scrum, Lean Portfolio Management and waterfall methodology
• Demonstrated success in defining, delivering and launching products
• Technical and business operations knowledge with proven ability to drive solutions
• Experience defining vision and strategy for a technical product
• Recognized as an active team player, with excellent communication and coordination skills as this role requires working with multiple teams across the organization
• Working knowledge and Experience with key PSS systems (Sabre, Amadeus etc)
