Overview
Position Summary
As an MRO Maintenance Apprentice, you’ll embark on a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the field of aircraft maintenance. Under the guidance of experienced technicians and Supervisors, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a variety of maintenance tasks, from routine inspections to complex repairs.
Compensation: $25.23 – $27/hr
Duties and Responsibilities
+ On-the-Job Training: Actively participate in supervised training sessions, learning about aircraft systems, components, and maintenance procedures.
+ Assisting Technicians: Support experienced technicians in performing tasks such as cleaning, inspecting, and replacing aircraft parts.
+ Tool and Equipment Usage: Learn to use specialized tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
+ Adherence to Safety Standards: Prioritize safety by following all safety protocols and regulations.
+ Documentation: Assist in maintaining accurate and detailed maintenance records.
+ Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry advancements and regulatory changes through training and self-study.
+ Other duties and tasks assigned.

Essential Job Functions
+ Able to comply with all safety requirements necessary to perform the job safely.
+ Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
+ Pass pre-employment drug testing and background check
+ Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external clients at all times.
+ Complete Clay Lacy Aviation and other job-related training.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, direct interface, over telephone and in writing.
+ Ability to make decisions with multiple objectives and implement them in a safe, efficient manner.
+ Follow oral and written directions; plan and complete assigned duties on a regular schedule; and maintain good working relationships with others.
+ Schedules are subject to change. Employees must be available to work flexible hours as changes occur, examples include overtime, holidays, and covering time-off for the team.
+ Ability to work without direct management supervision.
+ Must be comfortable with working outdoors, day, night and in all weather conditions.
+ The following functions may be performed in variable weather and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, dust, or noise.
+ Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
+ Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
+ Shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and fumes. May be exposed to hazardous materials or chemicals.
+ Step up and down stairs, ladders, and vehicles.
+ Work effectively while sitting, standing, walking, or running.
+ Able to engage safely and effectively in gross and fine motor control movements such as operating machinery, company vehicles and handheld tools.
+ Reach above shoulder level.
+ Reach at shoulder level.
+ Complete tasks safely and effectively that require hand and eye coordination.
+ Lift, carry, push, and pull objects (broomsticks, ladders, power tools etc.) from ground level to waist and overhead, up to 75 lbs.
+ Bending and stooping to pick up tools, and other equipment, up to 75 lbs.
+ Stooping below aircraft wing.
+ Standing and walking for extended periods of time, running when required.
+ Climb onto aircraft surfaces.
+ Must be able to reason, analyze, and solve problems.
+ Must be able to communicate clearly with clients, leadership and others.
+ Basic computer skills.
+ Must have basic math skills.
+ Always work safely and effectively.
+ Must work well with others.
+ Must be able to prioritize and multitask in a distracting environment.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
+ Currently enrolled in High school or college.
+ Enrolled in an A&P Program is preferred
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
+ Valid driver’s license required for potential ramp driving.
+ Mechanical Aptitude: Strong interest in mechanical and technical concepts.
+ Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to tasks and commitment to accuracy.
+ Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
+ Problem-Solving Skills: Capacity to identify and resolve issues.
