The EH&S Manager is responsible for leading and directing the implementation and maintenance of comprehensive environmental, health and safety compliance systems. The EHS Manager will play a critical role in driving initiatives for the business by implementing EHS improvements and sustaining positive EHS standards.
• Supervise all EHS activities for the site
• Responsible for safety plans, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, State, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations
• Maintains a system for reporting, monitoring, and correcting serious safety problems
• Implements training programs which will increase proficiency in safe practices, promote safety consciousness, ensure environmental compliance and advance continuous environmental improvement
• Develops appropriate guidelines to ensure legal compliance and formulates recommendations for implementing applicable best practices consistent with the company’s strategic safety and environmental objectives
• Conduct training for new-hires, existing employees and contractors performing work on company property to assure regulatory compliance and knowledge
• Conduct job hazard analyses and time studies to expose potential hazards and risks, unsafe acts or conditions
• Participate in post-accident investigations and corrective actions
• Develop emergency action plans
• Evaluate jobs, work stations, cells for appropriate ergonomic and safety issues
• Assist in light duty restriction accommodation analyses
• Ensure reporting of workers compensation claims to insurer. Partner with insurer and Human Resources to effectively manage claims
• Ensure Environmental compliance of operations processes
• Support continuous improvement activity.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in safety/environmental, engineering, or 10+ years EHS experience in a manufacturing/factory environment
• 3+ years EHS experience, including some experience in a Manufacturing Environment
• U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Strong ability to influence and lead associates, operations support, administrative support and leadership staff
• The EHS Manager must also have strong problem solving skills with a very systematic and analytical approach
• Ability to communicate with employees at different levels and must be able to deliver effective communications both written and verbal
• Ability to handle conflict effectively.
• Additionally, the EHS Manager must be able to oversee and prioritize multiple demanding projects
• A qualified candidate will have strong business acumen and be successful driving the OPCO’s EHS initiatives
