Overview
Synopsis
To provide contract and vendor management expertise for the Technical Operations function and liaise directly with the business unit (end-user) as a project manager. This will be in the form of technical contracts projects that are allocated to the Manager by the Senior Manager Contract Manager. The projects can be:
- Constructing contracts with vendors based on commercial agreements and liaising with internal stakeholders
- Executing sourcing projects on Ariba in accordance with sourcing governance
- Project manage resolution of contractual disputes and queries
- The Manager will be required to own the relationship with key vendors and provide continuous supplier evaluation & vendor engagement data for the business to use up to Chief level
- Contract performance measurement and contract administration is also required to be maintained and organized by the Manager.
Accountabilities
- To deliver a complete sourcing project and execute it as per the DOA and Ariba requirements
- Lead RFP’s discussions, register vendors as per the requirements, gather the requirements and execute the sourcing strategies
- Negotiate contractual terms and conditions with vendors. The Manager is expected to liaise with all internal stakeholders such as legal, finance, insurance, tax and build strong relationship with the internal business unit.
- Manage their own contract administration by maintaining a contract repository, contract approval forms and creating contract summaries for the ongoing contracts
- Own the relationship with the key vendors allocated by the Senior Manager Contracts and provide regular analytical update using data on contract numbers and values, spend in the last quarter etc.
- Engage with vendors and build a strong relationship based on regular meetings and review of SLA/Metrics
- Regularly review and adhere to the corporate governance process such as DOA and Legal SOP
- Act as the ambassadors for the governance process and provide an understanding of the technical contracts function to any business unit the Manager is working with
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s in an analytical subject or equivalent professional qualification and experience (min. 5 years)
- Experience & tracked record in a minimum 2 of the following:
- Vendor negotiations – can identify negotiation opportunities and influence stakeholders
- Contract management – Understands contractual language and key elements of an agreement
- Sourcing Process – Can execute an RFP and understands the high-level process of sourcing
- Analytical mindset – Can review contracts, gather key data and present using analytical tools
- Understands key legal and commercial terms that are used in contract management
- Has business acumen, can build technical business cases and connect cost with operations
- Airline Technical Operations or Buyer Fitted Equipment (BFE) management experience is required
- An organised individual with strong project management skills who can prioritise tasks and take initiative to ensure delivery of the task
- Has an understanding project planning, project management planning and risk management.
