The eLearning Experience Designer is responsible for translating the learning and development needs of the business into instructionally-sound, effective digital learning experiences. They will be required to work with the business to design, develop and deploy engaging and innovative online or blended learning solutions including interactive eLearning courses and assessments, learning games, social collaborative learning spaces, virtual learning rooms, system simulations, performance support aids, offline digital learning resources etc. As part of this role, the Designer will also be responsible
Accountabilities
- Work with the business stakeholders to define the target audience’s learning and development needs and to scope the objectives for the learning solution. Discuss and meet training requirements in conjunction with other departmental managers. Plan and administer training and career development activities.
- Lead the design and development of an array of effective, creative and innovative informal/formal learning solutions for use on a range of devices including tablet and smartphone.
- Use a variety of authoring tools/applications (Articulate 360, Adobe eLearning Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Skillitics, Adobe Connect) to create adaptive, responsive eLearning content that is memorable and pedagogically sound.
- Create graphical artwork assets for digital learning products, design graphical templates, apply branding/styling and UI/UX design principles to eLearning resources
- Adopt an agile approach to project management in order to effectively manage end-to-end projects (from TNA to product evaluation and revision); delivering products on time and achieving technical and design excellence in a culture of change
- Keep abreast of and introduce applications of emerging technologies into learning solutions
- Undertake Learning Management System (SuccessFactors) administration tasks including report generation in a variety of reporting tools, content deployment, learning item creation. Competence in Excel required.
Education & Experience
- A minimum of 5 years experience in an eLearning role with proven content authoring experience along with LMS administration
- Expert in the use of authoring tools (Storyline/Captivate), audio tools (Audition), and graphics/media tools (Photoshop, Illustrator etc.) and animation tools (Videoscribe, GoAnimate and equivalent)
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, to adhere to internal project processes, and maintain accurate project documentation
- An understanding of learning/instructional design, training principles and approaches to assessment
