Responsible for the GKN Aerospace Business Line Product Strategy & Plan and engineering sales activities aiming to provide attractive product solutions to the customer that meets their product requirement by the application of new and existing technologies.
This role is responsible for delivery of programs upon request from the Business Line Leadership to execute generic process technology implementation programs where required. Such programs include ones that may significantly shortening the Time to Market and subsequently the Business Case for the product introduction, also de-risk NPIs and product development activities.
• Support local GKN Aerospace Business Line engineering organizations in the pre Life Cycle gate 0 (insight selling) & Gate 0-3 bid process with responsibility to provide product requirements, customer needs and to review input for all new bids. In this effort also update VP E&T in front of commercial gate by ensuring adherence to the respective Engineering Gate Process.
• Perform Risk analysis for predictable application in terms of GKN and customer value. Works with the Design & Technology Director to ensure technology developments are relevant, aligned and add tangible value against each product family.
• Establishing engineering customer relationship to manage GKN product value propositions for future products. Within the responsibility, managing trade studies as part of marketing and sales activities to capture new businesses.(in concert with Technology Director and programs)
• Supporting, organising and running Technology days with their key customers that involves the GKN Aerospace Technology organisation to ensure our technologies capability is well understood by our customer and to find exploitation opportunities for them with our customer.
• Review engineering input to technical, commercial and contract reviews within the company and with customers.
• Performing Engineering Bid Reviews where GKN has any form of responsibility for the design definition and/or where new manufacturing technologies and processes are being applied. (partly responsible)
• Ensure that all stakeholders have the right information at the right time, through pro-active communication.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or an appropriate discipline.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in Aerospace and Defense.
• U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
• GKN experience
• Strong knowledge of Rotary craft structures.
• Experience in managing/leading and developing large engineering teams within the context of product development.
