Overview
Synopsis
Etihad is undertaking a PSS Migration in March 2023 of its reservations, ticketing, departure control, inventory, and digital environments. This will be a significant and complex undertaking. To ensure both continuity of operations, protection of revenue, and preservation of Etihad’s brand, it is vital that the cutover progresses smoothly and to plan.
The Cutover Manager will have overall accountability for the successful compilation and execution of the Etihad PSS Cutover Plan. That plan will be a large multi stream migration plan, consisting of several thousand lines of tasks, covering many months of preparation and rehearsal activities building up to the main cutover weekend and early life support.
Accountabilities
• Lead a small team that will develop, maintain, and execute the Etihad PSS Cutover Plan
• Hold detailed planning workshops and engage with all parties to manage the resolution of design choices, conflicts, and dependencies
• Balance risk across time, quality, and cost
• Define clear readiness stage gates with agreed entry and exit criteria
• Understand the impact on daily operations factoring in peak loads
• Communicate progress against the transition plan in line with the required program cadence
• Ensure project compliance aligning with the Project Management Office
• Maintain the risk and issues register relating to the service transition activities
• Plan and execute multiple dress rehearsals leading up to cutover
• Ensure there are sufficient resources to meet the demands of the migration plan
• Secure sign off against readiness criteria
Education & Experience
• Demonstrable experience performing similar roles in an airline environment
• In depth understanding of Airline systems, related technology, integrations, and their applicability to the services provided and the impact of the choices being made.
• Effective stakeholder management in a complex multinational environment across multiple streams, products, teams and time zones.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, across organisational and cultural boundaries.
• Proven ability to command the respect of senior colleagues and suppliers
• Demonstrate outstanding resilience, stamina, and attention to detail
• Great planning and organisational skills with experience in the practical use of Microsoft Tooling; Teams, Project, PowerPoint and Visio
