Building Tradesperson – Block Layer
This temporary role is responsible for carrying out general upkeep of buildings, grounds, equipment on the premises pertaining to electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting and other related systems in accordance with the National Building Code of Fiji.
This position will report to the Property Maintenance Coordinator.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform skilled carpentry work in the maintenance, repair, alteration and construction of buildings, facilities, structures and equipment
Continually review work processes and suggest improvements to reduce costs
Ensure 5S standards is maintained in the workshop
Constantly liaise with the Property Maintenance Coordinator in providing feedback to all stakeholders
Performs any other duties as assigned by the Property Maintenance Coordinator and/or the Manager Property and Ground Support
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Trade Certificate in a Carpentry or a Construction related field or 3 years’ work experience in building construction and preventative maintenance / repairs and sufficient experience in fencing / block works
Must have good working knowledge and skills in block laying, joinery, plumbing, painting, welding and other carpentry work
