Job Summary

AMENTUM is currently seeking a qualified Aircraft Mechanic II Debriefer in support of U.S. Air Force maintenance operations at Holloman AFB NM. This position is governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). This contract consists of F-16 Block 40 aircraft organizational level (O-level) assigned to the 54th Aircraft

Maintenance Squadron (54AMXS), 8th Aircraft Maintenance Units (AMU) contractor operation and Intermediate level (I-Level) supplementing the 54th Maintenance Squadron (54 MXS) and 49 MXS to support flying training for the 56th Fighter Wing (56 FW), 54th Fighter Group (54 FG), training mission at Holloman AFB (HAFB), NM.

Performs aircraft and aircrew debriefing. Coordinates with Maintenance Manager on schedules, aircraft status and issues as they occur. Maintains accurate aircraft status boards and performs other duties as directed by the Manager. Requires the application of experience and good judgment when dealing with customers. Uses aircraft fault reporting manuals and include fault codes when documenting discrepancies in the aircraft forms. Debrief Section will use automated debrief tools such as the Computerized Fault Reporting System. Input discrepancy and deviation information, utilization, and applicable flight data (to include landing status, system capability IAW AFI 21-103 and other applicable cause codes) into the MIS. Utilize MIS to identify and research discrepancies for repeat/recur trends and document them accordingly on the AFTO Form 781A. Debrief Section will ensure previously documented discrepancies are reviewed and identified as repeat/recurs. Use the appropriate landing status code and the appropriate system capability code for the completion of a sortie/mission. Provide the MOC with aircraft identification numbers and system WUCs for each aircraft debriefed with a landing status Code-3 using the approved MDS MESL IAWAFI 21-103. Enter one of the deviation cause codes into the MIS to indicate the reason for the deviation and the agency that caused a deviation. Reviews maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data systems, and historical reports to ensure complete documentation… Position reports to the Supervisor.

Essential Responsibilities (Basic):

+ Knowledge is mandatory of maintenance and operations organization management and procedures applying to aircraft, missiles, communications-electronics, space systems, or related equipment; applied statistical, analytical data systems design procedures; MIS and desktop computer operation and use; and concepts and application of directives.

+ Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.

+ This worker will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records, and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Work is performed in a shop environment that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated, is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruises from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts and sweepers in shop area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee is occasionally required

Minimum Requirements

+ Must be a High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum five (5) years actual and recent military aviation maintenance experience and one (1) year F-16 or other fighter aircraft experience desired.

+ Aircraft Debrief experience is required.

+ Must have completed military aviation maintenance training course

+ Must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.

+ Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.

+ Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.

+ Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check.

+ Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
